What is Yo B*tch (YB), and what does it mean to send a "YO B*TCH"?

Yo B*tch (YB) is an app made by Aaron Paul that sends audio greetings and responses to the friends you are connected with on the app. "Sending a 'YO B*TCH'" will send an audio clip and an iOS push notification with the phrase you selected to that particular friend.

You will not hear the phrase you are sending when you send it. If you wish to preview the phrases you are sending, you can find the phrase packs in the menu

How do I change the phrase I am sending?

Swipe right on the name of the user to whom you are trying to send a "YO B*TCH" to reveal the current phrase. Tap the phrase to bring up the phrase picker. You can purchase packs of other phrases in the menu.

I can't hear the phrases, ahhhhh!

First, make sure your volume is on. If you still do not hear the phrases when someone sends you a YB, go to the device Settings (not the app settings), then Notifications, then find YB and make sure Sounds is turned on.

I want to receive YBs but I don't want to hear the sounds.

Go to the device Settings (not the app settings), then Notifications, then find YB and turn off Sounds.

Who is sending me messages? I can't tell who this person is but I think I might know them.

The only way to find out through the app is if this person is in your contacts. You can check the usernames of your friends in your contact list by doing the following... On the main Friends screen of the app (which is also the home screen), tap the plus sign "+" in the upper right corner. Then tap "My Contacts". Here you will see a list of your friends on the app (according to registration phone number) with their associated username.

I accidentally didn't allow YB to look at my contact list and now I want to allow it.

Go to the device Settings (not the app settings), then Privacy, then find YB and turn on Contacts.

Why do you need my phone number for me to sign up?

We need your phone number for a couple reasons, one is to connect you with your friends, another is to help you set a new password if you happen to forget it. We do not store your phone number on a server anywhere. Your phone number is 'hashed' for security.

I don't want to receive a YO B*TCH from strangers.

In Settings, toggle the switch for you to only accept a "YO B*TCH" from users on your list of friends.

How do I find friends?

On the main Friends screen of the app (which is also the home screen), tap the plus sign "+" in the upper right corner. You can manually enter a username if you know it, or you can have the app check which of your contacts are already using the app.

If I send an upgraded phrase to somebody that does not have it, will they hear it?

Yes. Yes, they will.

Can I say anything other than "YO B*TCH"?

Yes, you can. Swipe right on the table cell of the user to whom you are trying to send a "YO B*TCH" to reveal the current phrase. Tap the phrase to bring up the phrase picker, and select a different phrase. You can purchase packs of other phrases in the menu.

Somebody is really bothering me.

You can block the user by tapping and holding their name when it pops up in the bottom notification bar upon receiving a message, then tapping "Block User." You can also manually enter the username by tapping the "+" cell when you're viewing your blocked list (accessed from the Settings menu). Furthermore, you can report the user by sending their username to support@yobitch.org.

How do I unfriend someone??

Swipe left on somebody's username on the Friends screen, and tap the revealed "Unfriend" button.

I got a new phone and my phrases I purchased are no longer available for me to send?

Head over to Settings and tap "Restore Purchases."

Somebody sent me a phrase but it looks like I can't send that phrase back to them.

They own phrases in additional phrase packs and are sending them to you. You can receive additional phrases from others without owning them, however, in order to send those additional phrases, you must acquire the upgraded packs.

I no longer want to be on YB, and I want to deactivate my account.

Please log out, then email support@yobitch.org with your username and request the account to be deactivated.
